| Title: Kufic Leaf from a Koran Manuscript
Date: 10th century Description: This is a leaf from a 10th century Koran manuscript, written in Kufic script. The leaf is large, approximately 6 X 8.75 inches and consists of seventeen lines of text on each side, it is nearly complete. There is slight marginal chipping resulting in a very small loss of text. The text is written in dark ink on a reddish beige vellum with diacritical marks in red and green ink. It has been encapsulated in an acid-free mylar envelope by a professional conservator.
